Wow. What a whirlwind!! This is just a quick update, since I really need to be heading to bed.
First: OMG, my love of Montana has been confirmed. I adore this state. I am not so much a fan of the lack of organic fruits/veggies…but compromises must be made.
Second: We scrapped all of our previous plans, and have been winging our trip on a daily basis. It’s not always easy, but we’ve been having a great time.
Third: McRuger has been a total genius/trooper/wonderful travel companion. Seriously, the man is a rock! We’ve been enjoying learning more about each other out in the wild!
Fourth: Cadet has been having a fine time. He’s been seeing lots of new things and experiencing a different pace of life. Sleep has been a challenge for him, but we have worked out most of the kinks there.
Fifth: There hasn’t been a day here when I haven’t heard thunder or seen lightning. Seriously! Personally, I am a HUGE fan of “big” weather, and Montana has plenty. Today we’ve been through several different storms, one with lightning on all sides of us as we drove down the highway. It was intense!!
Sixth: I’ve only had one panic attack (tonight). That’s not a bad number, since AF has been in town since Wednesday (usually they are more frequent during her visit). And, AF has been kicking my butt…hate traveling during!!
Seventh: I have really no idea what’s going on in the world. We haven’t been using much technology up here. I’ve been updating facebook occasionally and have sent a few texts/emails, but mostly have kept my iPad/iPhone out of sight. At night, McRuger and I usually have a little tech time after Cadet goes to sleep.
Eighth: I’ve bought 4 hats while here. One for Cadet, one for McRuger, one for my mom, and one for me!
Ninth: Today we were in the car for 12 hours: including lunch breaks, cameral stops, and occasional side trips. We’re worn, but it was a good day.
Tenth: Cadet has learned a few new things here: first of all he’s learned how to prance like a horse. And then he learned to spit (and loves doing it). Not sure how I feel about his new talents, but he’s pretty cute!!
We are back home on Tuesday. Tomorrow will be our second-to-last day of road-tripping before heading back to Idaho and the flight home. Part of me is insanely excited about going home, another part of me will miss this care-free time.
Once we’ve settled back home, I have some beautiful pictures to share with you!! As well as some toddler travel tips!
Hope you’re all doing well!! Big hugs from Montana!!
