Woah, what a weekend! Cadet turned 2 on Friday and it’s been a non-stop since! I would love to post pictures, but we’re in the midst of transferring my photo library, and I have no pictures right now.
Friday was a little crazy, but it was fun! Cadet woke up with his birthday race (a family tradition), a nice breakfast, and then we headed to OT. Then, we had a nap and we had a ton of fun with bubbles in the back yard when we woke up.
In the late afternoon, Cadet and I called MsJ. She sang to Cadet and he kissed the phone and even said a few words for her. It was nice to chat with her.
Friday evening, we had a friend and her husband over for cake and presents. It was lots of fun, although Cadet had zero interest in either.
When our friends left, McRuger ran to the mall to pick up the iPhone 5s, which meant that I got his old iPhone 5 (an upgrade from my 4). He only had to stand in line for 10 minutes, which was nice.
Saturday morning Cadet and I went to visit Grams with my cousin and her two girls. My cousin turned it into an impromptu birthday picnic for Cadet with cookies, grapes, presents, and cards. After a lovely time, Cadet and I headed home.
After a nap, Cadet, McRuger, and I headed to Sailor Boy’s house for another Cadet-centered party. Sailor Boy and his girlfriend just bought a new house and so it was a chance to celebrate two different events!
Cadet spent the entire time chasing around Sailor Boy’s puppy (the puppy loved it) while the adults talked. Sailor Boy made Cadet an amazing gluten-free lemon birthday cake.
By the time we left, Cadet was seriously ready for a quiet evening. Which he got.
And today? Farmer’s Market, a trip to Best Buy for a new iPhone cover for me, lunch out, and back home. I made some strawberry jam, gluten-free breakfast bites for McRuger, and Cadet headed to bed early.
We really wanted to take Cadet to the zoo, but between some early rains and all the other events, we didn’t make it. We are planning it for next weekend (hopefully the weather cooperates!).
How was your weekend?
